District #3
Valley Chapter No. 16, Nov. 13th 2003

Companions :
At the November meeting of Valley Chapter No. 16, Rt. Ex. Comp. Maurice L. Steeves the District Grand Superintendent, District No. 3, made an official visit to our chapter with a number of past & present Grand Chapter officers as well as Companions from The Hiram Chapter No3 & Cornwallis Chapter No 26.

A fine evening was had by all. The Chapter opened at 5:30PM where a short business meeting was conducted before the Chapter was called to refreshment. A beautiful meal, prepared from the secret receipt of Rt. Ex. Comp. Alex Bennett was waiting. Lobster chowder (The stuff that you could stand on) plus nice soft buttered rolls and juice. On a side table was the most scrumptious deserts you could ever hope for and of course Tea & coffee.

With full stomach's Labour was resumed on the Holy Royal Arch degree where five brothers were exalted to this most sublime degree. Four brothers from Valley Chapter and one from Cornwallis Chapter. The degree was quite impressive with all the degree team in costume. Under the tutelage of V. E. Comp. K.C. Crook (acting as High Priest) the degree went off without a hitch.   Judging from the accolades received from the visiting companions, all were suitably impressed as were the candidates, who after all, ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONES.

The only sad part of the evening came at the end when Companion Crook announced that he had taken part in his last Royal Arch degree.   After exalting some 253 companions over the years he felt it was time to pass the baton to some one else and allow him to pursue his other passion, that of traveling the globe.
