ROYAL ARCH MASONS ROSE TO THE CHALLENGE!

The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of N.S. does make Glaucoma Research, Treatment and Public Education the major portion of its Programme of Benevolence

Grand Chapter through its constituent Chapters has donated including interest the sum of $184,383.00 to this fund, as of Setpember 30^th, 2009.

Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in virtually every country.
Glaucoma is almost as common as high blood pressure or diabetes.
BLINDNESS ranks third among health fears after cancer and heart disease.
More than 100,000 Canadians may have glaucoma, but only half of them may be aware of their disease.
Most people with glaucoma have no symptoms, and by the time they notice VISUAL LOSS, damage from glaucoma is advanced.
Glaucoma progresses from the LOSS OF PERIPHERAL VISION and if UNTREATED, eventual loss of central vision & blindness occurs.
IF DETECTED AND TREATED IN TIME, glaucoma can be controlled and loss of vision PREVENTED.
