2007 ANNUAL CONVOCATION OF GRAND CHAPTER

A joint Divine Service of Worship with the Supreme Grand Council Eastern Jurisdiction of Canada, Royal and Select Masters, was held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd, conducted by the Grand Chaplain

At the Board of General Purposes meeting during the afternoon of Friday, May 4th, prior to the Grand Chapter session, Companion Timothy R. Outerbridge was re-appointed Grand Treasurer for the fourth year and Companion Lawrin C. Armstrong was re-appointed Grand Secretary for the twenty-ninth year.

On the evening of Friday, May 4th one hundred and twelve Excellent Companions shared in the Order of High Priesthood, in the Best Western Glengarry Hotel, Truro, Nova Scotia. The Order was conferred by Most Excellent Companion Earle C. MacDonald, Most Excellent President of the Order. Fourteen candidates received the Order. The joint Grand High Priest's/Grand Master's Reception followed the conferring of the Order.

On Saturday the Convocation was presided over by the Grand High Priest, Most Excellent Companion E. Carson Jackson.

Companion J. Hugh D. Palmer was elected as Grand High Priest; Companion James E. Taylor was elected as Grand King and Companion Terence S. Read was elected Grand Scribe.

The installation ceremony to install the three elected officers, the District Grand Superintendents and a number of the appointed officers, was conducted by Most Excellent Companion Gerald A. Riley, assisted by a team of Most Excellent Past Grand High Priests and others. The remaining Grand Officers, not present, will be installed at a later date.

The joint Grand High Priest's/Grand Master's formal Banquet was held in the Best Western Glengarry Hotel, Truro, Nova Scotia, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5th.

The ladies were in attendance at the Friday evening Grand High Priest's Reception following the Order of High Priesthood and the Saturday formal banquet. During the day on Saturday they were treated to a program which included a luncheon.

The One Hundred and Thirty-ninth Annual Convocation will be held on May 2nd and 3rd, 2008, in Truro, Nova Scotia.
