The One Hundred and Thirty-sixth Annual Convocation of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Nova Scotia was held in the Best Western Glengarry, Truro Trade and Convention Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia, on May 6th & 7th,2005, immediately following the Annual Assembly of the Supreme Grand Council of Royal and Select Master, Eastern Jurisdiction of Canada. Twenty of the twenty-one Constituent Chapters were represented with 133 Companions of our own Jurisdiction registered, along with seventeen guests from other Jurisdictions. Eight concordant bodies were represented.
A joint Divine Service of Worship, with the Supreme Grand Council Royal and Select Masters, Eastern Jurisdiction of Canada, was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5th, conducted by the Grand Chaplain.
At the Board of General Purposes meeting during the afternoon of Friday, May 6th, prior to the Grand Chapter session, Companion Timothy R. Outerbridge was re-appointed Grand Treasurer and Companion Lawrin C. Armstrong was re-appointed Grand Secretary for the twenty-seventh year.
On the evening of Friday, May 7th one hundred and four Excellent Companions shared in the Order of High Priesthood, in the Best Western Glengarry, Truro Trade and Convention Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia. The Order was conferred by Most Excellent Companion Earle C. MacDonald, Most Excellent President of the Order. Eighteen candidates received the Order. The Grand High Priest's/Grand Master's Reception followed the conferring of die Order.
On Saturday the Convocation was presided over by the Grand High Priest, Most Excellent Companion Tabor J.Caulier. Companion T. Ronald Tallon was elected as Grand High Priest; Companion E. Carson Jackson was elected as Grand King and Companion J. Hugh D. Palmer was elected Grand Scribe.
The installation ceremony to install the three elected officers, the District Grand Superintendents and a number of the appointed officers, was conducted by Most Excellent Companion Gerald A. Riley, assisted by a team of Most Excellent Past Grand High Priests and others. The remaining Grand Officers, not present, will be installed at a later date.
A Grand High Priest's/Grand Master's formal Luncheon was held in the Best Western Glengarry, Truro Trade and Convention Centre, at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 7th.
The ladies were in attendance at the Friday evening Grand High Priest's/Grand Master's Reception following the Order of High Priesthood and the Saturday formal luncheon. On Friday morning they were treated to a tour and a luncheon.
The One Hundred and Thirty-seventh Annual Convocation will be held on May 5th and 6th, 2006, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
